Franz Kafka Prize

The Franz Kafka Prize is a leading international author prize, with a solid mix of winners that includes several Nobel laureates (and many contenders), and they’ve announced that Claudio Magris (Blindly, etc.) will get this year’s prize.

No official press release yet, but see for example the Prague Daily Monitor report, Italian Claudio Magris to receive Franz Kafka Prize in Prague.

(I do think it’s a bit sad that they feel obligated to explain: “The prize is named after Franz Kafka (1883-1924), a world-known Prague German-language writer of Jewish origin”.).
